Book Review: Core Data for iOS — 2 Comments

  1. Core Data has changed quite a bit in iOS 5, including the introduction of UIManagedDocument, integration with iCloud, and parent and child contexts. The best book I’ve found on iOS 5 Core Data is Creating iOS 5 Apps by Rich Warren.

  2. Thanks, Scott. I will have to check that book out, at least while standing in a book store. 🙂 I am guessing that it includes one or more chapters that talk about CoreData, along with all the “here’s how you write an app” stuff common in books with broad titles.

What I like about “Core Data for iOS” is that it is dedicated to the one topic. I don’t think the Core Data additions in iOS5 invalidate what is in the current printing of “Core Data for iOS”. I am sure the book will be updated with the new stuff eventually. 🙂 But it is certainly good that you mentioned it! Thanks!
