Supporting National First Responders Day
Saturday, September 27th is National First Responders Appreciation day in the United States, a day set aside to recognize, remember, and thank all the brave men and women who daily put their lives on the line (or who have given their lives in so doing) to help someone else. Maybe you’ve witnessed or benefited from their efforts. Read on for a special promotion.
Hawk iMedia’s top app continues to be OuttaMyWay! – Personal Lights & Siren. The app was built for fun and because I’ve liked lights and sirens since I was a kid. (I still stop to watch and listen as first responders rush to a scene.)
Since 2009, OuttaMyWay has been downloaded more than 42,000 times, including by many first responders. (It shouldn’t be surprising that first responders may have “a thing” for lights and sirens too, but that’s just a hunch…) That’s a lot of downloads! So, thanks!
Many great reviews and emails are from first responders who love the app, and even use the app if their “real” sirens fail or they find themselves without a siren and need one. That is high praise indeed for an app.
In the spirit of giving back, and to help raise awareness about this one day set aside on the calendar, we will be slashing the price on OuttaMyWay for the weekend beginning today (September 26-28, 2014) and we will be donating half of the proceeds from the sale of OuttaMyWay during these 3 days to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
If you already own OuttaMyWay, two things:
- Thank you, and
- Please consider making a donation online to either the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation or the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, or both.
If you see a first responder this weekend, or any time, thank them.
